From dangerous atmospheric conditions such as oxygen-depleted, toxic and even explosive environments, to physically hazardous conditions such as extreme temperatures, unstable materials, or the potential for falls, confined spaces often present unseen challenges. PRESENTERS: John Fuke, Fall Protection Technical Manager, Personal Safety Division, 3M Canada Company, and Dan Curts, Senior Advanced Applications Specialist, Personal Safety Division, 3M Canada

John has been in the fall protection business for over 23 years. His career path has covered product management, marketing, product development, training and technical services. From a technical perspective, John also looks after over 40 Certified Repair Facilities for 3M. His background includes serving on the Canadian Standards Association Technical Committee for Fall Protection as well the American National Standards Institute equivalent in the United States. John has been active in contributing to industry associations, regulators and the Standards Committees as a subject matter expert for fall protection.

Dan Curts has been involved in Occupational Health and Safety for over 38 years. He is currently employed at 3M Canada in London as Senior Advanced Applications Specialist in the Personal Safety Division. Previously, Dan was employed by the Ontario Ministry of Labour as an Occupational Hygienist and at IBM Canada as an Industrial Hygienist. Dan has developed and continues to deliver a number of credited courses related to Health and Safety for over 31 years. He is also a Regional Coordinator for the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals and a past member of the Lambton College Advisory Council on Environmental, Health and Safety and University of Western Ontario Health and Safety Advisory Board. Dan is certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygienists, Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists and the Canadian Board of Registered Safety Professionals.
